Hi All
Apologies, as I should have sent this out before now.
However, we are now looking to organise the Bonus Ball Fund-Raising for 2014. The scheme was set up to raise money for the floodlight replacement project on courts 1 + 2, which was successfully completed last September. As we are a community sports club which operates on a not-for-profit basis, we don't have lots of money in reserve to cover major outlay. This tends to come from grant funding but most grant funding agencies expect a certain percentage to be provided by the club itself.
In addition to the final £3000 needed to complete the floodlight project last September, we also needed £500 to pay for a roof repair in October + had to pay £2000 back in September 2012 to secure our own lease. As a result we need to continue with our fund-raising and if you feel you can continue your support of the bonus ball, the Tennis Club will be most grateful.
This year club and committee member Julia Goss has offered to take over organising the Bonus Ball, so if you feel you are able to continue your support could you please let Julia know by emailing her: [email protected] ? Equally if you decide to drop out, could you also please let her know? If you could do so by Friday 14th February (an easy date to remember!), that would be great. If she hasn't heard from you by then, she will be in touch.
If you want to send her your cheque for £24, her address is:
4 Meadow Close
Viney Hill
Lydney GL15 4NX
Cheques should be made out to 'Lydney Tennis Club'.
As last year, we'll start with 3 draws in March and then it will be the first Monday of the month after that.
If you can persuade family or friends to buy a number, that would be much appreciated. It would be great to get up to the magic 100 this year.
Thanks in advance.
