Apologies to those of you who bought a number last year, as you'll already have received information on this year's Bonus Ball.
For those not familiar with the scheme,however, we have been running a Bonus Ball Fund-Raising Scheme for the past few years, initially to help raise funds towards the new floodlights on courts 1 + 2. As we are a not-for-profit community sports club, we don't have lots of money in reserve to deal with any major outlay. Just recently, for example, in addition to the lights, we also had to pay £500 to repair the club house roof and towards the end of 2012 had to find £2000 to pay for our Lease, so by buying a number you are helping the Club to put a little to one side to help with extra expenses.
Here is how the scheme works. You buy a number for £24, which buys you 12 draws - one per month. £12 goes into the prize pot and £12 towards the monthly draw, therefore the number of people who buy a ball = the amount of each monthly draw. Last year we had 94 numbers sold and were able to offer 2 monthly prizes - one for £60 + one for £34. It also raised £1128 towards the floodlight replacement.
This year the scheme is being operated by club and committee member Julia Goss. If you are new to the scheme and would like to buy a number, her contact details are:

Given the number of people involved + the time it takes to organise, we tend to do 3 draws in March and then it's the first Monday of the month after that.
The Scheme is open to friends and family in addition to club members, so if you are able to sell a number on behalf of the Club, that would be great.
