Hi All. At Monday's Town Council Meeting, I was allowed to deliver a 3-minute presentation on behalf of the Club before councillors took a vote on whether to offer the sale of the bridge to the Club for £1 and my presentation is attached here
They then voted in favour of a sale and we have 6 weeks from the date of the meeting to transfer ownership to the Club, with all legalities duly completed.
I was under the impression from comments made in reply to a question raised by Paula Smith, that if this deadline could not be met through no fault of our own, then a letter of explanation to the council office would suffice.
However, I have since been informed by the CEO to the Town Council, that 'no extension whatsoever for any reason will be permitted'! I have replied to say that I find this 'unnecessarily inflexible' and we also have to bear in mind that the end of this deadline coincides with the Easter Weekend, which effectively removes Good Friday and Easter Monday.
By this stage, our legal representative is still waiting to hear from theirs but at least the wheels are now in motion.
Any comments, please let me know.
Regards
Martin Godwin (Club Chairman)
