Hi All. For those club members who have a British Tennis Membership number, you should by now have received an email from the LTA reminding you of procedures for applying for Wimbledon tickets through the club. I would be interested to know if any of you with a BTM have not heard from the LTA - not that I'm doubting LTA efficiency! In the past those club members who wanted to apply for tickets informed us and then we applied for tickets as a club. There were never enough tickets for those who wanted them and we have always had to do a draw to see who gets them. This year the LTA is asking members who would like tickets to opt in directly by clicking on the link you should have received from the LTA email sent recently. How this will work I'm not sure but presumably it will bypass the need for a draw and they will inform successful applicants directly. Time will tell on that one. However the number of tickets allocated to the club will depend on the number of club members who have a British Tennis Membership number, whether or not they actually they want tickets for themselves. As a result, it would be a great help if all those club members who do not have a BTM arrange for one in the next few weeks. Once you have one, your name + number are automatically added to the club's BTM database. For club members getting one is free. All you need to do is google 'British Tennis Membership' and follow the instructions. With a number you receive regular updates from the LTA, often with various offers that may be of interest. Club member, Pat Lacy, has volunteered to contact those members who currently do not have a BTM to ask if they would be willing to support the membership by applying for one and she should be in contact in the next couple of weeks or so. A couple of points:
