Young people urged to give their views on local transport
Forest Routes is urging young people to give their views on travel in the district by completing a short survey.
As a community transport Partnership, Forest Routes recognises that the size of the district can cause serious travel issues for young people, often limiting access to training and employment opportunities, as well as social activities.
The 5 minute survey aims to identify the transport needs of the 10,000 young people living in the district and looks at preferred modes of transport and cost, as well as booking methods.
Studies show that increased access to transport can create more opportunities for young people, enabling them to access a wider variety of activities and help them to feel more independent and better connected with friends.
The survey is available online at http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/yptravelsurvey until 18 March 2016.
Following the publication of the survey results, young people will be invited to take part in follow up activities such as focus groups, website design, social media, marketing, photography, school council, community involvement and competitions. The results will also be used to apply for funding.
For more information about the survey or community transport in the district contact the Forest Routes Programme Co-ordinator on 01594 812613 or email [email protected] Information is also available on the Forest Routes website www.forestroutes.org
If you would like posters to display please contact us.
Thank you
